Not sure how to turn your insurance agency into a marketing machine?
Here’s 5 ways to get started, beginning with the basics.
1.) Update your logo
Every brand needs to “refresh” every now and then, even if it’s just a subtle change. Take a look at how Pepsi\’s logo has changed over the years. There are consistent themes, for sure, but the current logo doesn’t look like the original. When was the last time you updated your logo? In the past, you only had to worry about how a logo would look when printed. Now, you need a versatile, modern logo that can be used for both print and web. It needs to be available in muiltiple sizes, formats and resolutions so that it can be optimized for the internet and email purposes.
2.) Update your website
A website should be a living, breathing testament to the current state of your business, not a snapshot in time. Have you updated the content on your website this year, or even this decade? Other then personnel changes, many websites never get updated. The surfing public (which is practically all of us at this point) notices things like outdated design, copyright notices from 5 years ago, and content that hasn’t been updated in years.
3.) Be Active in Social Media
It’s here to stay and it is a powerful medium. Social proof is becoming more and more important. Search engines include it in their algorithms and consumers expect that a viable, professional company is going to have social media outlets for them to engage with.
4.) Integrate Everything
Does your office signage, your business cards, your letterhead, company brochure, website and social media sites all have a common theme, a consistent look and feel? You need to leverage your brand by having a common theme across all marketing mediums (print and online) and your website should be prominent throughout.
5.) Maintain Everything Consistently
Last, but certainly not least, maintain everything consistently. Keeping fresh, updated content on your website and social media sites will vastly improve the number of visits to your sites. If your sites have compelling content with calls-to-action, you will develop business from them. This is where many companies fail to follow through. It’s a relatively easy matter to have someone create all the above, but maintaining it – feeding it with current, topical content is the special sauce that makes digital marketing and social media really work. Consistent, simple, informative, and timely content. It will also improve your search rankings almost by default.
